-
Contact the Playgroup Coordinator
to sign up to participate.
-
You may be in more than one playgroup.
-
Siblings of any age are welcome to any playgroup.
-
Your child’s birth year is simply a guideline; you may participate
in any of the playgroups.
-
You will be in the hosting rotation for each playgroup you participate
in. Please note that while playgroup host is usually listed
in the calendar, hosting
frequently changes so always refer to the latest email
from your playgroup coordinator for the most updated information.
-
Providing snacks or drinks for kids & moms is optional.
However, many moms assume this is customary. Therefore,
if you do not plan to offer a snack
please
notify your group in advance so that people can plan
accordingly. Many times, because of the large geographic
area of our group, people are traveling more
than 20 minutes to reach hosting destinations and if
a snack isn’t provided it can be a LONG ride home!
-
In many cases, the weekly host will email their group prior to the day
of the playgroup to remind people where the playgroup is
being held. As a courtesy, please reply to the host with your intention to be
present so that she may
plan accordingly.
-
Your house does not have to be large or beautiful in order to
host. If you are not comfortable with a group in your home,
consider hosting in the
warmer months and have the kids play outdoors.
-
Do not feel you must vacuum, dust, or wash the floors before a playgroup.
-
Playgroup time is designated as 10am – 12pm. You do not have to come at
the start or stay the entire time. As a courtesy, please
notify the hostess if you are going to be late so there is no confusion. Also,
if you are hosting,
do not be alarmed if people aren’t showing right on time.
-
The goal of playgroup is just to get together for the kids to play and
the moms to socialize.
-
If your child has any viral symptoms, please keep child at home. This
prevents germs from spreading to friends!
-
You are responsible for your children while in your hostess’ home (e.g.
watch where child goes with that toy hammer).
-
Follow house rules of the hosting home (e.g. food stays in the kitchen,
or no jumping on furniture).
-
Help tidy up the toys about 10 minutes before quitting time.
